          Khalistan Addmitted into UNPO

Major Milestone for Sikh Independence

Special to WSN

Washington: According to a press release from the Council of Khalistan, a major milestone was passed for the movement for Sikh independence from India when Khalistan was recognized as the newest full member of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization. The Nishan Sahib (Flag of Khalistan) was hoisted at the Hague in the Netherlands during the organization's annual General Assembly. The UNPO, a well-respected organization with strong connections to the international community, is dedicated to advancing the aspirations of its members through nonviolent means.

Attending the General assembly were Lord Ennals, Member of the British House of Lords and former Bush Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense; H.S.H. Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein; Ireland's Noble Peace Prize Laureate M. Corrigan Maguire, President of the Peace People, Belfast and many other renowned dignitaries. UNPO members include Kurdistan, Tibet and Taiwan among many others. Four founding members, Lativia, Estonia, Georgia and Armenia, ahve already gained their independence and now posses full membership in the United Nations.

Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh, President of the Council of Khalistan headed the Khalistan delegation to the UNPO. "I thank the UNPO for admiting Khalistan within its organization," he said. "This is a big boost to the movement for Sikh freedom and increases international pressure on the Indian government to honor the independence of Khalistan and cease its violation of human rights against the Sikh nation."

" We are all very pleased," said delegation member Dr. Paramjit Singh Ajrawat. "India has sought to keep us isolated from the international community for years, but now we are spreading the news of India's oppression of the Sikhs throughout the world community."

"We have long sought an audience with the International community," said Bhupinder Singh of Holland, also a member of the delegation. "Now India cannot hide. Its brutality will be exposed."

But India's oppression is not isolated to the Sikh nation. The Christians of Nagaland, who were also admitted as full members of the UNPO, have lived under constant oppression at the hands of the Indian government since 1947. Since then, over 100,000 Nagas have been killed by Indian government forces. Sikhs and Nagas hope that the exposure the UNPO can shed on such atrocities will help cause the long nightmare they have had to endure under Indian government rule.

"India is not one nation but a conglomerate of nations held together against the will of the people," said Dr. Aulakh. "Like the Soviet Union, India too will disintegrate into its natural parts. "

"We now have behind us an organization recognized by the international community for its integrity. India can no longer malign the Sikhs in the eyes of the world with its disinformation. It is time for India to face the world and answer to its misdeeds.

It is time for India to realize that its tactics of government by oppression will no longer be accepted by the international community. It is time for India to respect the human rights of the Sikh nation. And it is time for the freedom of Khalistan. The Sikh nation will have its freedom. India has no other choice."

JATHEDAR EXONERATED! On November 8, the President of India commuted the sentence of Sri Sinah Sahib Bhai Ranjit Singh, Jathedar of the Akal Takht. That means that the Jathedar is free from any legal entanglements. While it is clearly good news for the Khalsa Panth that the Jathedar is free, the fact that the President of India claims jurisdiction over the Jathedar reveals the fact that Delhi treats the Sikh Nation as a colonized people. The Akal Takht is sovereign and not subject to any temporal law, however, Delhi will never accept that. Only Khalistan will ensure that no one will ever challenge the sovereignty of the Akal Takht again.

Jathedar's Freedom Shows Power of Unified Sikh Nation The Jathedar's pardon shows what the Sikh Nation can do when it is unified. This represents one of the first victories of a unified Sikh Nation against Delhi imperialism. The Sikh unity behind the Jathedar forced India to withdraw the warrants against him. Sikh unity forced the Akali leaders to support him and abandon their plan to replace him with their puppet Professor Manjit Singh. Continued Sikh unity will force Delhi to quit Khalistan.

Beware of Sikh Chameleons Please read my enclosed open letter. It exposes the personal attack on me by the President of the Yuba City (Cal.) Gurdwara because I tried to get a very mild resolution on human rights to include Khalistan. This resolution did not even hold the Akalis responsible for more than 70 documented atrocities since they took power in February. These same people were supporting, Khalistan. Now that the Akalis are in power, they swear allegiance to Hindustan. Do not support them moraltv. politically, or financially.

Over 70 Atrocities by Badal Government Documented This office has put tooether the enclosed report documenting more than 70 atrocities that have occurred since the Badal Akalis took power in February. These atrocities belie the claim by India that normalcy has returned to Punjab. Visit khalistan. com for a complete listing of these atrocities.

Yuba City Sikh Gathering Passes Resolution for Khalistan A Sikh gathering held in connection with the Yuba City parade passed a resolution in support of freedom for Khalistan.

40,000 Sikhs Gathered at Yuba City Defy Akali-controlled Gurdwara! Pass Resolution Supporting Jathedar andsay No to Cops in the Golden Temple! Against the wishes of the Akalis, the Sikh gathering also passed a resolution in support of Bhai Ranjit Singh. The Akalis initially called on Bhai Ranjit Singh to resign so they could replace him with their puppet, Prof Manjit Singh. In addition, this gathering also passed a resolution demanding removal of plainclothes police from the Golden Temple complex. The Badal government has refused to remove the police presence at the complex.

North American Akali Dal Murdabad Slogans Raised in Yuba City

In the Yuba City Gurdwara, a representative of the N. American Akali Dal attempted to speak. He said "We want to live within Hindustan." Another Akali tried to raise slogans of "North American Akali Dal Zindabad" about 90% of the crowd answered "Murdabad!" The Sikh Diaspora is clearly aware of who these Akalis are.

N.Y. Gurdwara Votes to Offer Podium Only to Khalistan Supporters

Richmond Hill Gurdwara in New York passed a resolution that no one shall be allowed to speak from the poditun who does not support Khalistan. I congratulate them. I urge every Gurdwam to pass a similar resolution and keep the new Mahants, the N. American Akali Dal, from controlling our Gurdwaras. Everyday we pray Raj Kare Ga Khalsa. Only those who are willing to follow through on this prayer should be addressing the Sangat from the podium.

Manjit S. Calcutta Pelted With Eggs in New Jersey

Manjit Calcutta, secretary of the Akali Dal, met with the Management Committee of the Glen Rock (NJ) Gurdwara at a local restaurant. When members of the Sancat showed up, Mr. Calcutta was escorted by the police out the back door to his car. Protestors pursued him and direw eggs at him and his car. Members of the Glen Rock Sangat have made a strong statement that the Khalsa Panth will not tolerate the sellouts like these Akali Mahants.

North American Akali Dal

Would Take Us Back 13 Years The North American Akali Dal is taking us back 13 years to the time of the Golden Temple attack. Where have they been the past 13 years? They refuse to endorse Khalistan despite their own previous position. They are enemies of the Khalsa Panth. Do not let them speak in your Gurdwara. If they show up, make sure you put to them our 13 questions and 7 demands, which you have received last month. It can also be downloaded from our website at www. khalistan. com.

Badal Paid Bribe to Professor Manjit Singh

It has recently been reported that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal paid a bribe of Rs 15 lakh to Professor Manjit Singh to escape any penalty for defying the Akal Takht. Badal wanted to restore Professor Manjit Singh to the Jathedar's office. Read the enclosed Punjabi article on the bribe.

Akali Leaders Do Not Attend Bhog for Beant Singh

A Bhog ceremony was held for the respected martyr Beant Singh to honor the anniversary of his death. A Gurdwara was built in his honor. No Akali leader attended this Bhog ceremony for a revered Sikh martyr! The Akalis feared Delhi's reaction for paying respect to our martyrs.

Jesuit Priest Decapitated in Bihar: 3rd Priest killed since '96!

A Jesuit priest was found beheaded outside a district capital in Bihar. Father A.T. Thomas was the 3rd Catholic priest killed since 1996. He was apparently beheaded for his work with Dalits. The other two priests were found with heir heads smashed. Another priest was forced to parade naked. This incident is typical of religious tolerance in India's "secular democracy." The Sikh Nation condemns this brutal act.

Police Fire On Christian Festival in Ludhiana

On October 26, a Christian religious festival in Ludhiana was broken up by gunfire from the Indian police. The festival, on the theme "Jesus Christ is the answer," was broken up after Hindu fundamentalist militants complained that conversions might be occurring. This brutal act exposes India for the theocratic tyranny that it is.

Congress Closes Session With Statements Blasting India

U.S. Congressmen Edolphus Towns (DN.Y.), Dan Burton (R-Ind.), and Peter King (R-N.Y.) have issued statements blasting India for shooting at the Christian religious festival. the beheading of the priest in Bihar. the attempt to arrest the Jathedar, and other abuses. Burton said "Clearly, the real terrorist is the Government of India." Congressman Towns said that "India may dress like a democracy for Halloween, but it is only a disguise." He added that "such a country is unworthy of the label 'democracy.' We, rightfully protest humanriphts violations in China, including the mistreatment of Christians, Buddhists, and others. Yet India is 100 times more oppressive than China." Congressman Burton asked, "What kind of 'secular democracy' allows its police to shoot at people merely because they may be persuading people to adopt their religious views?" These statements are enclosed.

Vishav Sikh Council Amends Constitution; President to Be Announced December 21

I spoke with Bhai Ranj it Singh, Jathedar of the Akal Takht. He informs me that the Vishav Sikh Council has amended its constitution so that every country will have one representative, as this office suggested. A Sikh Council will be set up in every country and its President will represent that country on the Vishav Sikh Council. The President of the Vishav Sikh Council will be announced on December 21 at I 1:00 a.m. at the Golden Temple.

Fight Breaks Out in Uttar Pradesh Assembly: Receives Global Attention Due to a division in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, a fight broke out among the Assembly members. CNN showed the video on the air and put the video on their website. This is yet another slip that India is breaking up. Now the Western world is becoming more aware that India is on the verge of disintegration.

Professor Says India's, Not External Problems Internal

Dr. Ainslie Embree, a Professor at Columbia University in New York, spoke at the Henry Stimson Center in Washington on October 27. He said that India faces internal problems, not external ones. He pointed out India's drive for hegemony. Professor Embree said that India has never faced the problem of self-determination and that the govemment's official position does not support it. He cited self-determination movements in Punjab, Khalistan, Kashmir, Nagaland, and others. India will have to resolve these issues without resorting to militarism, he said.
